Weather center’s yellow alert wasn’t porn

The National Meteorological Center said on Sunday that its former Weibo account was not suspended for posting porn but went down due to a bug in its system. 

The reply came after some Chinese netizens teased that the meteorological center's Sina Weibo account for issuing a yellow rainstorm alert. In Chinese, the yellow is the color used to describe a serious weather condition and yellow is also used to describe pornography. After receiving the complaint from netizens, Weibo's system automatically suspended the center's Weibo.

"It was just a joke. We didn't post pornographic content but the system blocked the content automatically," according to the meteorological center's Weibo that is once again operational. 

Netizens made fun of the Meteorological Center after the hoax was revealed and rectified, with Net users leaving humorous suggestions and comments. 

"You could change it into an 'orange rainstorm alert' next time so that the system will go on the alert and check you out," one netizen commented on Chinese social media.
