Imagine a television set that changes channels on its own or makes unrequested downloads and utters ghostly sounds when it switches itself on in the middle of the night. 

The Cui family in Beijing has a TV set that does those things for no apparent reason and it's freaking them out.

The family called the cable TV company which investigated the wiring but couldn't find a cause. The cable company even lent the Cui's another TV which did the same odd things.  

The family checked for electrical interference by unplugging a nearby refrigerator and keeping their car key remote in another room, but neither of those were the cause.  A smaller TV in another room does not have a will of its own. 

The living room television set makes odd eerie noises that don't match the pictures of the program.  In a video posted by btime.com, the TV is set to a news broadcast but the TV seems to make human-like sounds such as "ouch…eee…hahaha." 

So far, the only way not to be disturbed in the middle of the night is to unplug the TV.
