Some 1,500 riders participated in the Zhejiang Great Bay Area Cycling Open in the Qiantang New District of Hangzhou on Sunday, as the event kicked off a cycling series in East China's Zhejiang Province.

Xia Wei won the men's elite race, while Hong Sainan claimed the women's title. 

The Qiantang event marks the first race of the Zhejiang Great Bay Area Cycling Open, which continues in Wenzhou on June 16 and Yuyao on June 23, as well as in Ningbo on June 30.
