A hospital in Zhongxian county, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, on Saturday named all its newborn nursery rooms after some of the most prestigious universities in China and the world, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Oxford University, and Harvard University.

One of the parents said that she was confused when told her baby was at Zhejiang University, but later discovered it was only the name of the care unit.

Another parent whose baby was in "Harvard University" said that he doesn't really believe his child will end up studying at the school just because the baby was born in the"Harvard" room but he thought the idea was good as he hopes his child will someday get a chance to attend one of those famous schools.

A nurse at the hospital explained on Sina Weibo that the names are meant to be good wishes to the newborns.

Some internet users thought it was a smart move by the hospital, but more netizens did not agree.

"I feel sad for those newborns. They have already started to be burdened by the wishes of their parents even though they have only just come into this world," one netizen commented, whose sentiments represented the views of many other commentators.

"Is it legal to use other universities' names without their permission?" another netizen asked.

Some people also thought it was one cheap marketing tactic that the hospital was taking advantage of parents with newborns.
