At least 18 people were feared killed by a massive landslide that hit a jade mine in Hpakant, Myanmar's northernmost Kachin state, a local official said on Sunday.

The landslide took place early Sunday, killing company staff and security personnel, the official from the township general administration department told Xinhua.

So far, 13 bodies had been recovered and five were still missing, the official added.
