New buyers shine at Art Taipei in China

Art Taipei 2019 in the island of Taiwan in China wrapped up with over half of the buyers who are new to the market, a sign that indicates the new and young powering the art market to recover, according to a press release sent to the Global Times on Wednesday. 

It is also clear that the strategy of focusing on the collectors raised by Chung Ching-Hsin, the chairperson of Taiwan Art Gallery works and proved that Art Taiperi has the potential to increase confidence in the art market. 

According to Chung, galleries at the five days of expo performed so well that many of them sold off works on exhibition. Amanda Wei Gallery of Hong Kong was able to sell off several pieces of work by Chinese contemporary artists Zhou Chunya at the VIP pre-exhibition show. Gallery Tsubaki of Tokyo was even able to fully sold out all its Moe Nakamura works on the opening day. 

For the local galleries, they were able to showcase artworks as well as selling some paitings from young and promising artists.
