A firefighter in East China got a pleasant surprise at the end of a challenging exercise in which he climbed up a rope to reach the top floor of a training building. His future wife was there in her white wedding dress.

Dong Jie, a firefighter in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province and his girlfriend Wang Qing had been in a long-distance relationship for two years, when Dong's co-firefighters pulled off the elaborate stunt, according to a video posted by Pear Video.

Apparently, Dong didn't know his girlfriend was waiting for him when he climbed through the window and asks flatly. "Why are you here?"

Next comes the second surprise his teammate had prepared for Dong. A small drone flies up to the building window with a package for Dong.  It contains the diamond wedding ring he had bought for Wang, but has not yet paid off.

This brings up the third odd plot twist in the Pear Video. Dong tells his wife-to-be that it will take him 60 years to pay for the ring he brought through Alipay. Dong then gets down on one of his knees and vows his love for Wang.

"I am willing to pay for our love's keepsake for the rest of my life," he says.

The video didn't say how much the ring cost or what his monthly payments are.

Netizens admire the romantic love between the young couple and give them best wishes. "The 60-year installments for the ring is a commitment by the husband to his wife."
