The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) wrapped up on November 10, attracting more than 400,000 visitors. As China continues to exercise strong pandemic control, consumers are confidently resuming business travel.

"Business travelers seek safe spaces to connect with clients and colleagues," said Joseph Khairallah, Vice President of Operations North China at Hilton. "Backed by our EventReady with CleanStay initiatives, Hilton works together with these guests to build curated solutions for their event needs that are safe, flexible and socially responsible."

With personal safety becoming a more pressing concern for travelers, Hilton developed its CleanStay and EventReady initiatives earlier in 2020 to meet evolving consumer expectations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is built upon the already high standards of housekeeping and hygiene at its properties worldwide, where hospital-grade cleaning products and upgraded protocols are currently in use.

In China, Hilton is on track to have 300 hotels opening with 10 brands, offering guests a diverse selection of stay experiences to choose from. In each of these hotels, the CleanStay program uses a scientific approach to cleaning practices and products building on Hilton's already high standards of housekeeping and hygiene.

In addition, Hilton launched a food home delivery service earlier in 2020 to offer the best of Hilton dining, accelerating its outreach capacity through different channels and creating a clear and visible focus on cleanliness and hygiene.

Chinese consumers' travel demand coupled with their confidence in domestic safety, are driving a post-pandemic revival in domestic travel. According to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, domestic travel rebounded to 81 percent of pre-pandemic levels during this year's National holiday.

"Hilton is especially encouraged by the continued strong rebound," Khairallah said. "With the rise of China's middle-class and the booming market demand in third- to fifth-tier cities, Hilton is confident in the China market and the resilience of its tourism industry."
