Hongcun in Anhui Province
1. Shanghai – Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province
Start your trip at 6 am from Jiyang Road in Shanghai and drive along the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway to head for Hangzhou.
2. Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province – Lin'an in Zhejiang Province
When entering Hangzhou, turn into the Hangzhou-Huizhou Expressway from the west line of the Hangzhou Ring Highway. You will arrive at the Longgang Service Area in Lin'an at 9:40 am where you can refuel your car and have a rest.
3. Lin'an in Zhejiang Province – Mt. Qiyun in Anhui Province
Start from Lin'an and drive along the Hangzhou-Huizhou Expressway and turn into the Tongling-Huangshan Expressway at Tunxi. Get off the expressway at the Tunxi West toll station, and turn into the S103 National Highway and then the S326 National Highway. After passing Yanqian Town in Xiuning County, you will come to Mt. Qiyun in Anhui Province at about 11:45 am. Visit Mt. Qiyun and stay there for the night.
4. Mt. Qiyun in Anhui Province – Hongcun Village in Anhui Province
Starting from Mt. Qiyun at 1 pm the next afternoon, drive along the S326 National Highway, and the S218 National Highway to head for Hongcun Village in Anhui Province. You will get there at about 2:30 pm. There you can experience life in a water town in South China. You can also visit Wood Pit Bamboo Sea, not far from Hongcun Village located in Yi County. Then you can head for Yuliang Dam located 1 kilometer south of She County, which is not far.
