Police in Kobe, Japan on October 22 arrested a man who allegedly used a fishing rod from his third floor apartment balcony to steal underwear from the balcony of the apartment below.

According to police, Koji Higuchi, 54, who claims to be a newspaper deliveryman, was caught red-handed trying to reel in underwear belonging to the 21-year-old woman when her 26-year-old husband heard sounds coming from their balcony at about 12:30 am. The woman's husband grabbed the fishing line and then notified police.

Police said that Higuchi used a fishing line measuring 4.3 meters on the end of which was a multi-pointed grabber that had been hand-made by tying four fishing hooks together with string. Higuchi lowered the line and the hook snagged a clothes hanger on which the woman's laundry was drying.
