Wingle tops among pick-ups in 2010

Wingle pickup of Great Wall Motors is No. 1 in terms of pick-up sales in China with annual sales of 103,200 units.

According to the latest statistics, 380,000 pick-ups were sold in China in 2010. Sales by independent Chinese brands accounted for 80.8 percent of the total. Compared with the sedan and SUV markets, where joint-ventures prevail, in the pickup market, the situation is contrary.

In December 2010, Wingle sold 11,500 units, equivalent to the sum of sales of the second and third players. After breaking the record of 10,000 units in March 2010, annual sales volume of Wingle is now far beyond JMC and Nissan. The model has kept the first place in the pick-up market in China for consecutive 13 years.

Great Wall Motors is the largest pick-up and SUV manufacturer in China, while Wingle is the No.1 pick-up model in China. Since the company's first pick-up rolled off assembly line in 1996, there have been over 700,000 units produced yearly in the domestic market, 150,000 of which are Wingles sold internationally. In addition, Great Wall HAVAL SUV has been the No.1 in terms of sales in China for consecutive 8 years.
