What did Wu Ying's case indicate? It indicated that Chinese citizens have no financing freedoms. In China, securing financing is still a privilege rather than a basic right. Wu's case also signaled that property transaction contracts based on individual willingness are not well protected in China.

@何刚 (He Gang, the Managing Editor of the Caijing Magazine): There are too few scholars who are conscientious, who dare to tell the truth and adhere to social ethics. I would like to express my respect and support to those who could stay on this moral path, for example, Professor Zhang, who appealed to save Wu Ying and abolish the "bad law." However, it is greatly difficult in China to state outright unmovable social handicaps and promote reforms in such a period permeated with the desire for material wealth. I expect to hear more supporting voices for Zhang.

@旁观者马勇(Ma Yong, a researcher of the Institute of Modern History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences): The speech Professor Zhang Weiying delivered was very overwhelming as it touched upon China's key problem. There will be no real market, let alone the so-called "power of market", if China cannot guarantee people's freedoms, establish the concept of modern property and transform privilege into a human right. Hence here is an inevitable conclusion: China's problem lies in its politics. There is no way out for everything if politics cannot help. Of course, Professor Zhang did not speak this out frankly.

@韩志国 (Han Zhiguo, an independant economist in Beijing): A slew of controversies before and after China's lunar new year this year have crippled too much people's energy and diverted too much of their attention. Nevertheless, no dispute was more important than that of Wu Ying. The power of microblogs should be integrated. It might be of great significance to China's future development if we could systematically analyze and reflect on Wu Ying's case more fully. I suggest all should call off debates over Wu Ying. To think over profoundly Wu's case is for the better future of everyone.
