"Mulan" calls for gender equality in job searching

A female graduate from Xi'an dressed as  Hua Mulan (a female heroine in China's history)'s costume, holding a sign in an attempt to call for gender equality  at a job fair  at Shaanxi Province Stadium Sunday morning.

Xiao Lou (pseudonym) who majored in public administration management said she was rejected  several times at the job fair simply because of her gender.

According to a survey conducted by Xiao Lou, 63 percent of female students have experienced gender  discrimination  while looking for a job .

@颜宝玲:As a woman, I absolutely support her. Nowadays, the sex discrimination is pretty obvious while hunting for a job. .

@新朝坚仔:I don't think there is sex discrimination towards women during the  job hunting process.  Women are more likely to get jobs  as consultants and secretaries. Is this sex discrimination as well?

Cooperation forum concludes Sunday

The 16th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China successfully concluded in Xi'an on Sunday.

Han Song, deputy mayor of Xi'an said that the Xi'an delegation has signed 377 projects, with a total investment valuing 398 billion yuan ($63 billion).

CPI in Shaanxi up 4.2 pct in the first quarter

Wholesale price of cooking oil rises in Xi'an

The wholesale price of cooking oil has increased around 5 yuan ($ 0.79) per 5 liters recently in Xi'an, according to the report of cnwest.com, an important Shaanxi news portal.. But  local supermarkets said that they have not received  a notification to  elevate  the price of  cooking oil on the shelf. The reason of the price inflation is still unclear, said the report.
