Geely Automobile announced its May sales of 32,817 units on June 11, up 5.5 percent over year-ago, albeit a 10.3 percent dip from April.
The automaker reported 187,895 sales for the first five months, accounting for 40.8 percent of Geely's yearly sales target of 460,000 units. The result is slightly lower than that of expected and the company set its half year sales at t 228,557 units.
The May sales of Emgrand and Englon rose 15.9 percent and 26.1 percent respectively over a year ago, while those of Gleagle were down 16 percent. Emgrand sales in May climbed 5.1 percent from last month, while Englon and Gleagle sales slipped 1.7 percent and 26.0 percent. The sales performance is in line with Geely's long-term development strategy which focuses on Emgrand, a product of high price and high margin in the company's product portfolio.
