A 37-year-old man jumped to his death from the second floor of a residential compound in Hujialou Nanli, Chaoyang district, Wednesday night, according to Beijing Emergency Medical Center (BEMC).

The man was lying facedown on the ground, with blood covering his body at 8:20 pm Wednesday, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, a witness surnamed Zhao told the Global Times.

Li Jianren, BEMC media officer, said the man's family rushed to the scene, and police are investigating.
