Li Yuchun, a singer who won nationwide singing contest Super Girl in 2005, filed suit at Dongcheng district court against a man that spread a rumor of her death, the Legal Mirror reported.

The man, surnamed Zou, posted on his Sina microblog that Li died during a plastic surgery procedure on March 19. Li appeared in an exhibition that afternoon which proved his post incorrect, but it had already spread online and caused loss of reputation.

Li is demanding 100,000 yuan ($15,750) compensation.
