It can be good to plant trees alongside the road, but it's a disaster to plant trees at bus stops, making passengers wait in the shrubbery.

This embarrassment has happened in Huainan, Central China's Anhui Province, for nearly a year.

There are four stops covered by shrubs. These stops were put into use several months ago with the shrubs being planted later.  On rainy days, the stops become too muddy to stand at.

Officials from the Bureau of Parks and Woods of Huainan said that originally the shrubs were moved without permission to build the stops.

However, one staffer claimed a local management agency later planted the shrubs to beautify the road. But now, according to regulations, the shrubs cannot be removed to pave the sidewalk.
