The local authorized dealer of the Ferrari and Maserati luxury sports car brands in Indonesia plan to launch a Ferrari rental business in Bali, which may help boost tourism, a media quoting official reported here on Wednesday.

"We hope the presence of Ferrari Experience Rental will drive tourism growth in our country, especially in Bali," Irmawan Poedjadi, president director of local authorized dealer PT Citra Langgeng Otomotif.

Currently over 200,000 foreign holidaymakers visiting Bali per month, according to the National Statistic Bureau.

The service, to be called Ferrari Experience Rental, will work with hotels and resorts in Bali to market its service, according to Irmawan.

Irmawan said that one hotel the firm would partner with was the Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts Bali near Kuta.

"We also plan to partner with travel agents to help market this service, especially to foreign tourists who are looking for luxury during their holiday in Bali," Irmawan was quoted by the Jakarta Post as saying.

The company picked Bali to launch Ferrari Experience Rental because of its beauty, climate, friendly local residents and congestion-free streets, Irmawan said.

"Bali is a perfect place to enjoy a luxurious ride because the island is undoubtedly beautiful and it is free from traffic jams. That is why we did not pick Jakarta for this service," he said.

The company was currently finalizing its concept for the business for domestic and foreign tourists, he added.

The company would likely choose the Ferrari California, its two- door grand touring sports car with a 4,297-cc engine.

The company was also considering several other Ferrari models for its service, including the F430, F430 Spider and the 612 Scaglietti, Irmawan said, declining to specify how many vehicles would be made available by the service.
