Experts from Nepal and China have emphasized on the need for more cultural exchanges between the two countries.

At a talk program held in Nepali capital Kathmandu by China Kulun Group on Nepal-China cultural exchanges and tourism promotion, experts from both countries focused on the need for cultural exchanges between the two countries for better understanding of each other.

Speaking at the program, CEO of China Kulan Group Li Yan highlighted the activities of the company in promoting cultural exchanges and tourism promotion between the two countries.

Prof. Liu Jian of South Asia Research Institute in China informed the gathering about popular Nepalese novel Muna Madan being translated in Chinese language.

"The publication of the novel in Chinese language has helped the Chinese readers in understanding Nepalese culture and innovative creation of Nepalese talented people," Jian said.

Prof. Jian also stressed that it was now for the younger generation of the two countries to work on enhancing the relationship between the two nations.

Prof. Gei Wei Jun shed light on the development of Nepal-China relations in the ancient context.

Likewise, Shyam Shrestha coordinator of Kulan Group said that out of the 736,000 tourists who visited Nepal in 2011, 100,000 of them were Chinese tourists.

"Although Nepal and China have remained very close friends, the relation holds enough potentiality to explore more and enhance the relations," Shrestha said.

Another speaker Prof. Liu Hong Xiang, an expert on Nepal research stated the significance of language in exchange of cultural ties.

"We need to explore our languages in order to have better understanding of each other," Prof. Xiang said. Prof. Xiang has been living in Nepal for the past 35 years.
