The Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Jiangmen in South China's Guangdong Province denied that it had been criticized for slow implementation of the central government's real-estate curbing policies, the China Business News (CBN) reported Tuesday.

Over the weekend, there were reports saying that the State Council had finished its inspections, and that Jiangmen was the only city to be criticized for slack implementation of property policies among the 16 inspected cities.

"But from what we know, the news is not true, since the inspection conclusion has not come out yet," said Zhou Yongzhong, vice director of the city's publicity department, as quoted by the CBN.

An anonymous official, who is in charge of the Jiangmen press office, also said that he had asked the inspection team what the result was, but was not aware of any criticism.

Meanwhile, Wang Haiyan from the publicity department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development also denied that the ministry had yet made any conclusions over the inspection result, the National Business Daily (NBD) reported Tuesday.

According to the NBD report, the conclusion was written by Chen Sheng, an expert from the China Real Estate Research Association, who said that the media speculation had been misguided.

In late July this year, the State Council dispatched eight teams from different ministries to check on the implementation of real estate curbs in 16 provinces and cities, a move that analysts said had been prompted by the recent rebound in home prices.

The inspection teams came to Guangdong Province on July 30 and inspected three cities - Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Jiangmen - within three days.
