Train collision injures 10

At least 10 passengers were injured in a train collision at around 5 pm Thursday at the Jiamusi railway station in Heilongjiang Province, reported Heilongjiang TV Thursday night.

The accident happened when a train for Nancha from Jiamusi, which was at the platform, was rammed from behind by another passenger train from Hegang to Jiamusi, which was arriving at the station.

At least three people were badly injured, said the news report.

Counterfeit train tickets

Some 48,000 fake train tickets without date or destination were intercepted by customs officials during an inspection in Pingxiang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a city on the border with Vietnam, said the Nanning Railway Bureau Thursday.

Guangxi, which is neighbor to Vietnam, has been afflicted by cross-border crimes.

Customs officials found the fake tickets in a parcel that had been loaded into a mini-van by a Vietnamese woman, after she brought the parcel into China across the border by bicycle.

Local police are still investigating the case.

Bad drivers named

Cars driven by officials, who violate traffic regulations in Wuhan, Hubei Province, will be reported publicly by the traffic police. Those who cause major accidents will be severely punished, the city's chengguan, or urban management department, said Wednesday.

The move is part of a citywide campaign aimed at improving the city's traffic.

Meanwhile, pedestrians and private motorists who fail to obey rules will have their infractions made known to their workplace or residential community.
