China Construction Bank (CCB)denied media reports that it may make moves to acquire banks in Europe, Hong Kong Economic Times reported Tuesday.

"It is untrue that CCB would spend some $15 billion to buy banks in Europe," the report said, citing a spokesperson from CCB.

Financial Times said Monday that CCB is expected to complete a bank acquisition within the year.
