The second International Humanitarian Forum ended two-day discussions here on Friday after adopting a final declaration urging efforts to promote multiculturalism in an increasingly globalized world.

All participants of the forum are aware of the need to promote multiculturalism in conditions of globalization and consider it the most effective instrument to encourage growing cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, said the document.

They also consider it necessary to recognize the ever-growing importance of multiculturalism and to rethink its role in modern society.

At the same time, they called on the international community to initiate various events in order to achieve genuine intercultural dialogue between states, civil societies and faith groups.

Founded by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the forum brought together more than 650 delegates from 70 countries including 11 Nobel Prize winners, 10 former presidents, five emeritus professors and over 50 prominent public and political figures.
