A man surnamed Qu who stabbed his colleague surnamed Li several times after getting drunk was sentenced to 10 months in prison at Daxing district court Thursday, the Legal Mirror reported.

Qu said he invited Li to have dinner at his home on April 11 when Li complained to him about the hardships in his life and allegedly said he wanted to commit suicide. Qu then produced a knife and stabbed Li on his body.

Qu said he stabbed Li "as a favor," but Li denied he wanted to kill himself and said Qu did that because they had a fight.
