A quality watchdog from Hunan Province has cancelled the production license for baby formula milk powder Hunan AVA Dairy Co after a quality scandal, xinhuanet.com reported Thursday.

The cancellation is effective from September 11, according to the Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Hunan Province.

In July this year, five batches of Nanshan Bywise infant milk powder, a brand under the company, were found to contain high amounts of Aflatoxin M1, which could harm the liver.
