Armed groups in Syria attacked Thursday a passenger bus coming from neighboring Lebanon, killing eight workers, the state-run SANA news agency reported.
Meanwhile, another eight were injured in the incident, SANA said, without giving further details.
Separately, an armed group killed a parliamentarian's brother in the southern province of Daraa on Thursday, according to SANA.
The armed group has broken into the house of Moussa al-Aboud, the brother of parliamentarian Khaled al-Aboud, who is an outspoken proponent of the Syrian government, and killed him, said SANA.
The report said seven terrorists had raided the house of al- Aboud and shot him in his hometown in Daraa.
Many Syrian officials have been either killed or kidnapped during the 19-months-old crisis by the opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
