US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns will visit China from Oct. 16 to 17, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei announced on Friday.

Officials of the two sides will exchange views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern, Hong said at a regular news briefing.
