Geely Automobile(SEHK:0175)announced its October sales on November 8, 2012. Thanks to the recovery of the Chinese auto market and the automaker's strong performance in overseas markets, the monthly sales increased to 48,609 units, a 35- percent increase over year-ago and a 13-percent growth over the last month, representing the fastest growing month in recent two years.

Geely sold 372,547 vehicles from January to October this year, an increase of approximately 13 percent over year-ago, accounting for 81 percent of the 460,000-unit sales target for 2012. The three sub-brands Emgrand, Gleagle, and Englon respectively sold 15,352, 17,192, and 16,065 units in the month.

Geely's performance in overseas markets continues to be very eye-catching as its monthly sales in October was over 12,200 units, the highest single-month export volume in the history of the automaker. From January to October, its overseas sales exceeded 81,000 units, having completed the annual export target of 80,000 units two months in advance, and the yearly export is expected to reach 100,000 units.

Zhang Lin, Vice President of Zhejing Geely Holding Group and General Manager of Geely International Corporation, said that Geely's product quality has been upgraded quickly through consolidation of the existing markets and continuous exploration of new markets, and that its international business will be expanded with an increasingly mature network of marketing and service in overseas markets established.

Its sales in the domestic market also enjoyed a strong recovery during the month as it sold 36,400 units, a 20-percent improvement over year-ago.

Geely's first SUV model GX7 has attracted wide attention since it was released. Last month, the model hit a new high with its sales reaching 4,581units, contributing a conspicuous part to the company's sales growth.
