Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to stop airstrikes on the Gaza Strip for three hours during the visit of Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil to the coastal enclave, Israeli media reported early Friday.

The report said the brief halt to airstrikes will be in effect on condition that no rockets are fired from Gaza into Israel.

In a phone interview with Xinhua, a spokesman of the Prime Minister's Office declined to comment on the report.

Hamas said Thursday that Qandil will visit the embattled Gaza Strip on Friday.
