Wang Mingxian exhibition @ G-Dot Art Space

Renowned scholar and artist Wang Mingxian is holding an exhibition showcasing his art and that which he has collected over the past 30 years at G-Dot Art Space. Wang's collections date back to the Cultural Revolution (1966-76), offering insight into many examples of Chinese art that didn't survive upheaval of the era. His series of paintings on display include "Red Utopia," "Rewrite the Masterpiece" and "City and Construction," the latter which juxtaposes Beijing's old city walls with its construction of modern buildings. His most acclaimed painting, The Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, is also featured.

Yang Jiasong @ Jianghu Bar

Beijing singer/songwriter Yang Jiasong celebrates his 10th anniversary as a performer at Jianghu Bar this Friday with a special concert. Yang is a journeyman rock, folk and pop musician who blends music styles seamlessly. Zhu Xiaomin, Heaven and Pinuo Cao perform in support.
