Wanted Love Day is celebrated this year on December 12. In Putonghua, the date "12/12" has a similar pronunciation to yaoai, literally "want love." The festival was created by Web users and, like Singles' Day on November 11, is expected to generate a surge in online shopping.

The name Web users have given the China Huzhou Sheraton Hotel and Resort in Zhejiang Province. The building, designed by architect Ma Yanhui, resembles a giant toilet seat with its oval structure.
