"Beware of thieves in the Wangjing area!"

There are times some men cannot sit idly by. Web user Wangjinghjd is one of those men. Aghast at thieves roaming the streets of his beloved community of Wangjing in Chaoyang district, Wangjinghjd led a one-man cartographical fightback. Tirelessly hunting reports from across the web, he collected information on where thieves and pickpockets liked to strike, such as Hualian shopping mall and streets near Wangjing Hospital and Guangshun Bridge. Collating all this data, he uploaded to wangjing.cn, an online forum for the community, two lists with accompanying maps, flagging where thieves could be found. "Thieves are more active at the end of the year, and I hope the lists can warn the residents of potential risks," the one-man anti-crime gang explained. Chaoyang police said they have arranged for their forces to crack down on the crooks. Wangjinghjd, we salute you. (Source: The Beijing News)
