Few people make it to an advanced age with all their teeth, but one Chongqing resident has gone beyond expectations with her special skill.

On Monday, a reader called the Chongqing Evening News claiming that a woman in the southwest municipality's Ba'nan district has "iron teeth," and can chew glass and stones.

The sexagenarian is quite famous around the neighborhood for her special trick.

"Yeah, of course I know who you're talking about. You mean Chen Fengzhi," said a local vendor, who told the Chongqing Evening News where she could be found.

Chen, 62 years old, is an energetic, vigorous, and charming lady. When asked whether the stories of her strong teeth were true, she replied, "Saying means nothing. I will show you."

She smashed a light bulb and put a piece of glass into her mouth and began chewing. She then drank some water, swallowing the glass. She went on to pick up a small stone and bit down hard on it. When Chen opened her mouth, there was nothing left inside.

While Chen enjoys demonstrating her skill for those who ask, she says it is not for everyone.

"It is dangerous to chew up glass," Chen said. "You need to focus all your attention on the mouth. And of course, your teeth must be strong."
