Death toll and missing individuals in the Philippines due to Typhoon Bopha (local name: Pablo) have soared to nearly 2,000, the latest data released on Thursday by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council ( NDRRMC) showed.
The number of fatalities climbed to 902, while the missing persons rose to 934, the agency said.
The number of the injured also increased to 2,661, while only 136 others were rescued.
Damages to properties went up to 14.3 billion pesos (348.95 million US dollars), with the agriculture sector incurring the biggest lost at 9.7 billion pesos (236.70 million US dollars).
The government and non-government organizations have provided 76 million pesos (1.85 million US dollars) worth of relief items to typhoon victims.
