Two killed, 35 injured in bomb attack in Pakistan's Karachi

At least two people were killed and 35 others injured on Tuesday evening as a bomb went off in a busy area in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi.
 
The blast took place near the Karimabad Bridge when a large crowd were leaving after a public gathering.
 
Spokesman of the police department, Imran Shaukat, told local media that the bomb was planted in a motorcycle that was parked on the roadside.
 
The bomb targeted the crowd who were going back home after the political gathering organized by the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) , one of the coalition partners of the central government.
 
The blast killed one person on the spot and injured 36 others including children and women.
 
Police and rescuers rushed the injured people to the hospital where one of the wounded persons succumbed to his injuries.
 
According to hospital sources, the condition of four injured were very critical and they were shifted to the intensive care unit.
 
The bomb also damaged six buses and four motorcycles parked nearby.
 
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
