On December 27, 2012, the 2012 T-mall Automotive Summit Forum kicked off in Hangzhou Xixi Resort, gathering 15 online car dealerships on T-mall including Hecheng, Yongda and Jiaochen. During the summit, Geely's Gleagle online flagship store received the pioneer award from T-mall for its leading position in the auto e-commerce industry.

As China's first online vehicle flagship store, Geely paved the way to sell cars on the Internet, becoming the first automobile enterprise to sell cars on Taobao, the Chinese ebay, and making Gleagle a leading brand selling on line in the auto industry. With its creative actions, Geely showed the world that besides the traditional 4S shops, online selling has become a new way to sell cars.

Following Geely's example, many other automobile enterprises are racing to join in the e-commerce industry, thus making the industry spring up and develop rapidly. The establishment of Geely's Gleagle online flagship store, which is valued as a milestone, has great significance for Geely's and even the whole auto industry's marketing innovation and the transformation of customers' consumption philosophy.

Geely's Gleagle online flagship store is groping its way forward, with two years' effort, it has gained great success. In 2012, the whole year's click volume was over four million with more than two million individual visitors; it totally held 18 sales promotion activities that benefited the people and collected information of more than 50,000 potential customers; and it has successfully sold 1,028 cars with 2.81 cars per day on average, among which promotion activities in April, May and October, such as the group buying activity in April, has made 760 cars sold, accounting for 73.9 percent of the year's sales volumes.

For all these achievements, this online flagship store faces some problems while it strives to attract potential customers, improve the sales conversion rate, solve the interest conflict and stimulate the car dealers to participate in the store's activities and help them gain some profit.

In the year 2012, China's auto industry has developed at a slow pace. Under the pressure of this new environment, using the brand's advantages as well as innovation will become one of the main topics and challenges faced by the whole auto industry, both for the joint-stock brands and self-owned brands.

The online car store is not only a show window to demonstrate and introduce the product, but also an innovative Internet platform aiming at marketing. Therefore, how to solve all those problems faced by the store will be a key issue for the store's future development. In 2013, as a forerunner in selling cars on line, Geely's Gleagle online flagship store's performance is well worth expecting.
