A 4.4-magnitude earthquake jolted sea off the Hualien county on Taiwan's east coast at 11:29 am Friday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.
The epicenter was monitored at 24.1 degrees north latitude and 122.3 degrees east longitude with a depth of 7 km, according to the center.
This came just hours after a 4.3-magnitude quake was monitored with the epicenter at 23.9 degrees north latitude and 121.9 degrees east longitude with a depth of 8 km at 2:08 am.
There has been no reports on casualties or property losses on the island.
