Myanmar forms action committee to fight corruption, bribery

Myanmar has formed an action committee to fight corruption and bribery in government organizations, according to an announcement of the President' Office published Wednesday.

The nine-member Action Committee against Corruption is headed by Vice President Dr. Sa Mauk Kham and other members include Home Minister Lieutenant-General Ko Ko, four ministers at the President 's Offices U Thein Nyunt, USe Maung, USe Thein and U Tin Naing Thein as well as Attorney-General Dr. Tun Shin and Legal Advisory Board to the President U Than Kyaw.

Director-General of the President's Office U Hla Tun was assigned as Secretary to the committee, the announcement said.

The formation of the committee is aimed at emergence of a good governance and clean government after the new government took office in March 2011, the announcement added.
