A man was fined 4,000 yuan ($643) for damaging a woman's two mobile phones, Xuhui District People's Court said in a press release Wednesday.

The defendant went to the woman's home to argue after she and the man's girlfriend got into a dispute. During the argument, he picked up the woman's phone and smashed it on the floor. He then threw her new iPhone out the window.

The court said it gave a lenient sentence because the man offered to compensate the woman for the phones.
