Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Secretary General Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi said that a 200-member Iraqi trade delegation will travel to Iran in the near future, Tehran Times daily reported on Thursday.

The delegation, comprised of officials from Iraq's state and private sectors, will discuss trade opportunities with the related Iranian counterparts.

Sanjabi put the value of annual trade between the two countries at about 10.7 billion US dollars in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 2011- March 2012), adding that Iraq is the main trading partner of Iran with regard to non-oil goods, according to the report.

Bilateral trade amounted to 4.6 billion dollars in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, 2012, said the Iranian official.

The Islamic republic is currently working in the energy sectors in Iraq, including electricity, oil and natural gas projects, as well as major economic activities, such as road construction.
