Car sales from distributor to dealer in 2012 reached 1.161 million units, rising 24.8 percent from previous year, according to the Indonesia Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) on Friday.

Gaikindo reported as quoted by Kontan, group of Kompas.com, almost all brands saw an increase in sales during 2012.

Its data showed that Toyota remain the leader of sales of 405, 414 units, Daihatsu in the second place of 162,742 unit, followed by Mitsubishi of 148,918 units, Suzuki of 125,577 units, Honda of 69,320 units, Nissan of 67,143 units, Isuzu of 33,155 units, and Mazda of 12,392 units. The biggest sales growth is obtained by Honda with 50 percent of increasing compared to 2011 growth.

In retail sales, there was an increasing in December 2012, around 4.4 percent or 101,866 units, compared to November of 97, 570 units.
