Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari is to embark on a four-day tour to Vietnam Monday, the External Affairs Ministry said.
The vice president will be accompanied by Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot, four members of parliament and a group of senior officials in his visit aimed at marking 40 years of friendship between India and Vietnam and the fifth year of their strategic partnership, a spokesperson said.
Ansari's visit comes days after Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh toured India and met External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, and the two leaders had discussed ways to enhance their strategic partnership initiated in 2007.
The bilateral trade between India and Vietnam is pegged at four billion US dollars and the total stock of Indian projects in Vietnam is worth 800 million dollars.
