The Sudanese government announced Monday that it will ban the activities of opposition political parties which recently signed a so-called "New Dawn" document in Ugandan's capital Kampala to topple the government in Khartoum, Sudan's Ashrouq Net reported.

Ashrouq quoted Sudanese Vice-President Al-Haj Adam Yousif as saying that the Sudanese opposition parties will not be allowed to exercise their political activities until they renounce the document.

He further reiterated that the government is capable of protecting the country and will not allow any attempt targeting the country.

Earlier, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir vowed that the signatories to the document will be held accountable.

Last week, the Sudanese Revolutionary Front Alliance and other opposition parties signed the document in Kampala with the aim of toppling the government in Khartoum.

Over 20 opposition parties, civil society organizations and youth movements signed the document, in addition to the revolutionary front which brings together the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector, the Darfur rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), the Sudan Liberation Army ( SLA)/Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur faction and the SLA/Minni Minawi faction.
