Beijing railway police had arrested seven thieves who targeted the increasing number of passengers in the capital's railway stations as of Saturday, the Beijing Evening News reported Sunday.

Two-thirds of the thefts occurred at midnight when passengers were asleep in waiting rooms.

Police have warned passengers to take care of their belongings and not to sleep or nap in waiting rooms.
