A group of soldiers gathered at the Communications Ministry on Monday, but everything looks normal in the Asmara, the Eritrean capital, according to a diplomat stationed there.

It was not clear about the reason of the soldiers' gathering, however, there was no sign of coup attempt, a diplomat from the Chinese Embassy in the country told Xinhua through phone.

Earlier, RFI (Radio France International) website reported that "a group of soldiers have launched what may have been a coup attempt in Asmara, forcing state TV off the air."
