National broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) aired Wednesday evening a documentary on self-immolations that have occurred in Northwest China's Tibetan-inhabited areas.

The documentary centers on overseas "Tibet independence" forces and self-immolations that have occurred in Gansu Province.

The program was created through in-depth research and interviews conducted by CCTV reporters in areas where the incidents occurred.

The program, broadcast at 8:35 pm Wednesday on English-language channel CCTV-9, is intended to "offer truths about self-immolation incidents that have occurred in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu.
