Six Afghan civilians lost their lives as a roadside bomb struck their car in Taliban former stronghold Helmand province 555 km south of Kabul on Friday, spokesman for provincial administration Ahmad Zirak said Saturday.

"The tragic incident took place in Nad Ali district on Friday evening as a result six innocent civilians including two women were killed," Zirak told Xinhua.

He also blamed Taliban militants for organizing the deadly roadside bombing. However, the outfit which is largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings has yet to comment.
