The city's quality control bureau has sequestered 371 bolts of the cloth that a local clothing company used to make school uniforms found to contain carcinogenic chemicals, local media reported Tuesday.

Because the garment manufacturer, Shanghai Ouxia Clothing Company, sourced the cloth from a textile company in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision has asked the quality supervision bureau in Zhejiang Province to assist in the investigation. The company's ready-to-wear garments are all being checked.
