The Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang in China’s Taiwan, Lien Chan, has started a three-day visit to the Chinese Mainland.

Lien is leading a delegation of more than 40 politicians and businesspeople, including Chairman of Hon Hai Precision Industry, Terry Gou. He’s scheduled to meet with CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping and Beijing Municipal government officials on Monday.

Lien will also meet with President Hu Jintao and other political leaders on Tuesday. Analysts say the visit is expected to boost trust between the CPC and the KMT, which is beneficial to cross-strait economic cooperation. The Taiwan Affairs Office under China’s State Council says the Mainland greatly values dialogues with Taiwan people.

And the Mainland will carefully consider their suggestions in forging the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. In 2005, Lien Chan first visit to the Mainland re-started communication between the two parties after more than six decades.
