Taiwan-born director Ang Lee accepted his second Academy Award for Best Director for Life of Pi Sunday night. The film also won three more awards, for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Original Score.

A picture showing Lee eating a hamburger on the street while still holding his Oscar statuette after the ceremony, as well as a series of pictures of Lee posing lightheartedly for the paparazzi, quickly spread online. Web users were overjoyed to see their film hero cast in such a human light.

Netizens took the opportunity to express their respect for Lee's work and pursuit of his dreams. Jane Lin, Lee's wife, also won compliments for her 30 years of support to her husband while achieving in her own field, pathology and molecular biology.

@Tianpeng: This is an In-N-Out hamburger! Oh, I finally found something that I share with Ang Lee, but doesn't the Oscar ceremony serve food?

@demi_here: This photo is so cute. Listen to Lee's speech - there's no ego at all but true love and faith in film without a greedy heart.

@chengwen: Lee's success proves that ethnic Chinese filmmakers can also shine on the international stage, but they should have an open environment, which is what we lack in the Chinese mainland.

@panduofei: Lee's wife deserves respect - not every educated, independent woman would be willing to take the full family economic burden for years. That's what true love is meant to be.
